CRDB Bank has taken a significant step in supporting the Government's efforts to promote economic inclusion in the country. The bank has signed an agreement with the IT Commission (ICTC) and the National Science and Technology Commission (COSTECH) through its 'IMBEJU' program. The program is focused on empowering women and youth economically by providing them with capital and support to develop their businesses.

Abdulmajid Nsekela, the CEO of CRDB Bank, expressed his optimism that the collaboration with these Government institutions would help to achieve the goals of the program to a large extent. He emphasized that ICTC and COSTECH have been doing an excellent job that reflects the Government's willingness to promote business and creative ideas. Nsekela noted that finding like-minded partners was essential to making the program effective and reaching many beneficiaries.

Dr. Nkundwe Mwasaga, the Executive Director of the IT Commission, expressed his excitement about the agreement signed with CRDB Bank. He said that the partnership would help young businesses in the IT sector to access capital and support to improve their ideas and innovative businesses. This, in turn, would promote employment in the country.

Dr. Amos Nungu, the Executive Director of the National Science and Technology Commission, noted that the agreements they entered into with CRDB Bank would align IMBEJU with the institution's programs that stimulate commercial innovation, including MAKISATU. This alignment would help stimulate the growth of young businesses in various sectors.

During the event, CRDB Bank also announced the establishment of a non-profit institution, the CRDB Bank Foundation. The Foundation's responsibility is to establish and implement innovative, sustainable, and participatory programs aimed at bringing social and economic prosperity as IMBEJU does. Tully Esther Mwambapa, the Communications Director of CRDB Bank, was introduced as the founding CEO of the CRDB Bank Foundation.

In her first speech as the CEO of CRDB Bank Foundation, Mwambapa called on young creative people to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the bank through the IMBEJU program implemented in collaboration with ICTC and COSTECH. She encouraged young people to use the recognition systems of these institutions to take advantage of the opportunity.

Mwambapa also invited young people to participate in a special empowerment seminar organized by the CRDB Bank on March 11, 2023, at the Julius Nyerere International Hall. The event will introduce the program to the official market, and empowerment will begin. The Prime Minister, Hon. Kassim Majaliwa, is expected to be the official guest at the event.
